Seriously. Don't work with these guys. In fact, we don't want anybody else to know they exist. We've been nothing but delighted getting our work done by them.
We've Never Stopped Starting Up
It can't really be said that we live in a world full of knowledge brokers. Essentially, "knowledge brokers" is a play of words where the word "knowledge" is meant to be "expertise" and "brokers" something like "find something best fitting for and on behalf of a client".
Back in 1999, when we launched as a tiny startup public training seminars and events firm in a Dubai you wouldn't recognise anymore today, we quickly realised it was absolutely paramount to put some real effort into finding and making deals with "best fitting" trainers on a subject, who can demonstrate a verifiable history of experience to us. Those efforts paid off in completely unintended ways because attendees to our public seminars wanted to have the same trainers deliver training for the companies they came from.It didn't stop there. More companies heard about us and wanted to have an ever growing number of high-quality trainers. Then consultants. Then business coaches. Then the subject "facilitation" and "facilitators" lifted off and became a demand. Companies were prepared to fly experts by the dozens into the UAE, KSA, Qatar, etc to deliver training programmes for them. This is where the business idea of Brokering Business Experts and the name "Knowledge Brokers" really came from - years before the phrase was even introduced on Wikipedia in 2008. Our business was suddenly in real demand far beyond the geography we could have possibly dreamt of then (over 30 countries today) that we had work formalising our very own work processes and finding ourselves enough capable employees to handle all the work. We've seen challenging years, too. 2008 was such a year of near stand-still. We made good use of the down-time to build partnerships with other firms to represent us in their countries and formally added timeless evergreens like Training Outsourcing (only for GCC countries and the first on that market) and Business Academies (Also a first. Recommended if you are looking at a serious in-company learning initiative!) to our service portfolio.
We've also had our share of lessons learned on how to become ultra smart "right-sizing" the company. Today we are an incredibly lean, agile and dynamic organisation which scales up and down on demand just in time to deliver our projects as we require it. We have also become a very tech-savvy firm. Something rather rare in our industry. On the occasion of our 20 Years Anniversary (2019) we've re-launched Expertbase with a complete re-branding, a ground-up facelift with a fresher, more compelling look and whole load of exciting features.
